I'm trying to locate
David Lord who I flew with during a visit to the Royal Malaysian Air

India in 1940/41 . I have a 31 Squadron photograph taken at that time
and I would very much like to get the photo to him. |

I am writing a magazine article about the
Hellcat N.F.II`s used by 892 NAS aboard HMS Ocean between 1945-46,
mainly in the Med but has anybody got any photos that I might be able to
use to illustrate it? I am also building a model of one of these
Hellcats to go with the article but I cannot be sure of the colour of
the code letters on either side of the roundel, can anybody remember
whether they were red, white or another totally different colour? If
anybody can help out I would be really grateful. |

and later took off again. It had a crew of two a S/Lt Maurice Birell

I am trying to track down details of my
Uncle Johnny and his service in the Fleet Air Arm. I know he died while
serving with/attached to RNAS Lossiemouth and is apparently
buried there. Although I believe he died in a carrier accident? His
death seems to have been in 1958, however it may have been as late as
1964. And the limited information I've found so far suggests he could
have died in a Scimitar, Vixen, Hunter, Buccaneer or Sea Hawk? All of
which seemed to have spent the 50's and 60's falling out of the sky or
failing to take-off or land according to the instructions with a
depressingly regular monotony. He was called - I think -
John Henry Sherren Hall, of (at time of death) HMS Fulmar.
He was the son of John Talbot Sevignac-Hall, first C-in-C of the
Indian Navy (HMS/HMNZS/INS Achilles/Delhi) and drove a Morgan 3-wheeler
(to impress the ladies!!). If he is the person I think, he was a Lt.
when he died and his sister (my mother) is Elizabeth. Any help/memories
your members may have of my Uncle would be most gratefully received. |

I'm seeking anyone who served with or knew
my late father, Henry Edmund (Ted) Doyle-O'Neill. He was in the
FAA during WW2 and trained in Canada (perhaps Northern Ontario) as part
of the Commonwealth Air Training Program. He was so impressed by the
country that, after the war (and teachers' training college), he
emigrated to Canada though later returning to the UK. He was a keen
track & field athlete and may have competed in armed forces games. |

June Riley |
Does anyone remember my late husband
Barry John "Baz" Riley. He was washed overboard from HMS Avenger
on 28th September 1979 whilst on a NATO exercise in the North Sea. He
was only 34 and I often wonder where his shipmates are now and how they
live with the memory of that day. His name is now listed on the Armed
Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffs so he will
live on forevermore. |
